6/16/2020 – Delaware County Council:

As a thank you for their bravery and resilience during COVID-19, residents and staff of the Fair Acres Geriatric Center were treated to a mid-afternoon parade led by the Phillie Phanatic.

Members of the Rocky Run Fire Company, the Delaware County Park Police, and Riddle Hospital escorted the Phanatic through the grounds as health care workers and support staff gathered to show mutual support for their colleagues.

Residents watched and waved from their windows as the Phanatic danced and did his best to bring a smile to the faces of residents and staff who have endured so much over the past few months.

Council hopes this small gesture helped to lift the spirits and boost morale of residents and healthcare heroes on the frontline. You are doing a PHANTASTIC job keeping our residents safe and healthy. THANK YOU!
