We hope this post continues to find you well.  This extended period of seclusion has been quite difficult for our residents, families and staff members.

We continue to use computer tablets to enable residents and family members to communicate during this stressful and lonely period.  Staff have also decorated windows to convey to the outside world that we are staying strong and united against the COVID-19 virus.

We have adopted the hashtag “#FairAcresStrong” to express the unwavering fortitude of every employee to unite with each resident in fighting this invisible enemy.

Our Spiritual Services advisors have been broadcasting daily words of encouragement to the residents on one of our in-house cable channels.  Since residents are unable to receive visitors, numerous organizations, businesses, and volunteers have reached out and sent greetings, meals and other uplifting messages as well as videos that are broadcast daily.

Delaware County Council made an appeal to the public for cards, letters and artwork addressed to the residents.  Those items were delivered and were extremely well received.  Council also expressed their support for the staff of Fair Acres by placing signs thanking the facility’s “healthcare heroes” on the lawn at Fair Acres and delivering posters to display inside of the facility.  The support of family members, Delaware County Council, and the public has been phenomenal and continues to provide additional strength to us all.
